  • Lead Pastor - Derek Hansen

    Pastor Derek and his wife, Becky, met at family church camp as junior-high students and have been serving in ministry together for over 12 years. They have three children - Liam, Sam, and Hollis. The Hansens came to serve Adirondack Community Church and the Lake Placid community in September 2017. Pastor Derek is an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church. He loves preaching and teaching, leading the church in mission, and seeing people’s lives formed and shaped by God’s grace. 

  • Youth director - kaysie kyler

    Kaysie has lived in Lake Placid for nine years and has been working with teens her entire professional career. She, along with her husband Lee, are thrilled to have the opportunity to share with our teens the amazing ways that God loves and cares for us. Kaysie enjoys the incredible outdoor opportunities of the area and traveling.

  • Worship leader - john pillen

    John is a multi-instrumentalist who has been involved in leading church music since he was in the 7th grade! He loves seeing people connect with God through music. When he’s not playing guitar or keys, you’ll most likely find him hiking with his incredible wife and their four amazing kids or working hard at his real job in an emergency department near you! 

  • Organist - joey izzo

    Joey was born and raised in the tri-lakes region. He recently graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston with a degree in Music Production and Engineering. He composes music for television, gives music lessons, produces and mixes bands, and works as a keyboardist and pianist in an ever growing number of projects and partnerships.

  • Maintenance - Scott monroe

    Scott has been caring for Adirondack Communtiy Church since 2011 when he retired as Chief of Police from the Lake Placid Police Department. He also maintained ACC's property from 1997-2005. He is married to Melissa and they have lived in Lake Placid since 1988. Both enjoy traveling, while Scott is an avid bowler and deer hunter.

  • Administrative assistant - Jennifer Zahn

    Jennifer was born in Saranac Lake but move to Syracuse. She attended college for marketing, worked in the corporate world, and later in academic medicine. Upon retiring, she moved back to the Adirondacks. She enjoys the outdoors and hiking, attends St. Luke's Episcopal Church, where she is the Chairperson for Outreach Ministry, in the Ladies Guild for charity work, and sings in the choir. She has one son Chris and a grandson Michael.
