Find out more about the folks who help make Adirondack Community Church a great place to worship!

  • Director of Adult DISCIPLESHIP - Amanda Cash

Amanda has been serving in various ministry positions and churches since 2004. She and her husband, Daniel, along with their children Ethan, Ellie, and Evie, have lived and served in the Lake Placid community since 2012. She preaches regularly in our traditional service, hosts our online worship feed and helps lead small groups. When she is not at church, you can find her running, skiing, dancing, cheering her kids on in all of their adventures and playing with their dog!

  • Organist - joey izzo

Joey was born and raised in the tri-lakes region. He is a graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston with a degree in Music Production and Engineering. Joey and his wife have three children. In addition to recording for our traditional service Joey composes music for television, gives music lessons, produces and mixes, plays in the band Arch Echo and an ever growing number of projects and partnerships.

  • Lead Pastor - Derek Hansen

Pastor Derek and his wife Becky met at family church camp as junior-high students and have been serving in ministry together for over 12 years. They have three children - Liam, Sam, and Hollis. Pastor Derek is an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church. He loves preaching and teaching, leading the church in mission, and seeing people’s lives formed and shaped by God’s grace. Pastor Derek is a lifelong Buffalo Bills fan and he enjoys traveling with his family, playing video games and reading.

  • Worship leader - john pillen

John is a multi-instrumentalist who has been involved in leading church music since he was in the 7th grade! He loves seeing people connect with God through music. When he’s not playing guitar or keys and leading worship for our contemporary service, you’ll most likely find him spending time with his incredible wife Vanessa and their six amazing kids, coaching youth sports, hiking, or working hard at his real job practicing medicine.
